• Each candidate must be at least 21 years of age at time of application and be able to provide an original, valid driver's license with chauffeur endorsement and/or commercial vehicle endorsement.
• Each candidate must possess a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) meeting the following standards:
• Each candidate must submit to, and produce a negative result from, a five-panel drug screen urinalysis.
• Each candidate must obtain a local criminal background check.
• Each candidate must possess proficiency with the English language and demonstrate above average map reading abilities.
• Training: After each candidate has successfully completed the qualification process they are placed into the Yellow Cab Service Corporation of Florida training and orientation program consisting of classroom didactics and on the job training with a mentor.
• Classroom Didactics: Each new driver is required to attend the Yellow Cab Service Corporation of Florida training and orientation class in which the driver is instructed and the Yellow Cab Service Corporation of Florida philosophy is instilled in the following areas:
• On the Job Training: Each new driver, after successful completion of the classroom portion of the training is placed with a veteran driver for three days of in-vehicle, on the job training. This portion of the training allows the new driver the opportunity to experience and practice his/her skills in a controlled, monitored environment.
• USDOT Qualifications: Yellow Cab Service Corporation of Florida is committed to assuring a safe and reliable driver to the passenger. Yellow Cab Service Corporation of Florida administers and maintains all MDOT/USDOT qualifications for drivers.
In addition, each driver is issued picture identification card, which must be worn on the outside of the uniform at all times.
